For
two decades, Bill edited dozens of trailers for major studio
features, working for top-rank trailer companies in
Hollywood and for th e
marketing department at Paramount Pictures.
In 2004, Bill stepped away from commercial entertainment to
open his own editing service to devote more time to
documentaries and humanitarian projects. He has established
himself as the go-to trailer expert among documentary and
independent film producers. He is often asked to speak and
critique trailers in seminars hosted by Carole Dean and has
written a chapter on trailer production for the new edition
of her book, The Art of Film Funding. His Trailer Clinics
help give filmmakers the tips and tools to improve their
fundraising trailers. He has also written articles on the
subject for documentary blogs and has been quoted in the
N.Y. Times.
